Keswick, situated between the huge bulk of Skiddaw and the gentle beauty of Derwentwater, has become the major centre for tourism in the northern Lake District. This pretty market town offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, from shops and restaurants to museums with a difference, and boating trips around lake Derwentwater.
Keswick Market
The market stretches from the top of the Market Square, above the Moot Hall, all the way down to below Brysons bakery, towards the corner of Bank Street. The whole area is pedestrianised.
Some 60 traders set up their stalls with food, spirits, clothes, shoes, tools, artworks, crafts and gifts, much of it locally produced.
Food stalls include fresh fish, locally produced meat, fresh vegetables, artisan bread and bakery products and a wide range of preserves and condiments.
